A MAHOOSIVE well done to all my GCSE students who achieved their results.
I have been overjoyed to hear about their successes - Grades 4 - 8. Such fantastic results considering some of the barriers they have faced, including:
🧠 Emotional & Mental Barriers
Feeling anxious or panicked during exams
Struggling to focus or get started
Low confidence or fear of failure
Past bad experiences with tests
🗣️ Language & Understanding Barriers
Finding questions hard to understand
Trouble putting thoughts into words
Needing more time to process information
👀 Physical & Sensory Barriers
Bright lights, silence, or smells causing discomfort
Feeling tired, in pain, or physically unwell
Not having the right support for mobility or sensory needs
🧩 Neurodivergent Barriers
Getting stuck on small details or overthinking
Being distracted or zoning out
Feeling overwhelmed by the exam setup
Trying to “mask” and act typical, which is exhausting
🧾 System Barriers
Exams only testing one kind of skill
Not getting the help or adjustments you need
Questions or topics that don’t feel relevant or fair
Well done to you all. Onwards and upwards - to infinity and beyond.
